Not much eventful has happened here the last few days… you know how it goes… laundry, house cleaning, supper making, rat surgeries… and oh yeh, Lionel stubbed his toe yesterday! I don’t know how he did it, but he cracked off his toe nail about 1/3 of the way down on his left index toe – ouch! It looks painful =/ I drove him to class Tuesday night because he was hobbling, poor guy… he’s feeling a lot better today though, and no more limping :)

My heart rate monitor (HRM) came in the mail today! Yay! It’s soooo cool. It sets up a program for you and when you exercise it beeps to tell you to speed up or slow down to stay in your zone, and it has this cool timer thing. Let’s say you want to exercise for 20 minutes above a certain lower heart rate limit. Well, the clock only ticks down when you’re heart rate is high enough! So even if you run for 30 minutes, if you only had your heart rate over the low limit for 15 minutes you still have 5 more minutes to go! TO COOL! I thought it was broken when I first got it cause it said my resting heart rate was 100 (I was sitting down o.O), anyway, when I reset it it started taking the correct readings and now it’s 62 beats per minute sitting down – not bad, but could be better! So with my trusty HRM prodding me on, I’m hoping my exercise sessions become more efficient and my resting heart rate will get lower :) Combined with our new fun exercise ball (yes, exercise can be fun with that thing!) I’ll be in tip top shape in no time!… well, maybe 6 to 12 months, lol.

There’s a “Book Of Me” challenge going on at ScrapJazz now. I really want to start scrapping, but since I don’t have any pictures printed since coming here it’s a bit hard to do! So I’m going to get some printed the next time I’m at Costco and I think I’ll start the “Book Of Me.” The point of it is to let your descendants know all about you, not just the events in your life. For example, your dreams, your favorite color, childhood memories, thoughts about life, etc. It’s a cute idea, and a great opportunity ti use some funky supplies – I see a neon green and purple layout coming my way, hehe. I’ve ordered a “potluck” of paper off eBay so hopefully something better than my current Provocraft stuff will come – I’m having such a hard time creating with that! I’m also getting a Dahle 550 trimmer after becoming exasperated with my Fiskars one… it doesn’t cut straight and the blades are expensive to replace. The Dahle has a self-sharpening blade and always cuts straight, and the ladies on ScrapJazz say they’ve had it for 2 years and it still cuts as well as the day they bought it! Not bad! (more…)
