Today Lionel and I went to a real barber to get Lionel’s hair cut. It’s been awhile since he was to a true barber shop - with the blue and red swirls on the front and the leather seats and all that jazz. So off to Alma & 4th Barbers at 3660 W 4th Ave. It all started out normal enough - she trimmed the back of his hair, then did the front… then she trimmed his sideburn area by his neck to clean up his beard… then she trimmed his beard and mustache! That was all well and good… but she then trimmed his neck again about 3 more times, then slipped this little vibrating machine over her hand and gave him a massage! Lionel gave me this wierd, uncomfortable expression and then just sat there, and I tried so hard to contain myself, but I ended up laughing out loud about four times, lol. The massage lasted about 5 minutes, and the total cost ended up being $15 - but what a good job! Best haircut he’s had in a long time! And while his beard was cut a bit too far forward at his neck for my tastes, it looked really good. We aren’t sure if that’s just what those shops do, but he’s going to try another one next time, lol. –>
